G R A T I T U D E or R E L I E F ?
Often when we feel grateful for something we are actually experiencing relief that things went the way we wanted them to go. Or we got what we thought we really wanted.
This feeling of relief occurs when we are attached to a certain outcome, and attachments are all based in fear.
The kind of gratitude I am talking about does not depend on outcomes at all, it's present in every moment we understand that our lives happen for us, and we take the opportunity to investigate every situation to unravel, resolve, and evolve into our whole selves.
Can you feel the difference?
Here's a challenge for you: notice something today that you feel grateful for. Maybe it's something you own or a phone call or a quiet moment to yourself. See if what you are feeling is actually relief by asking yourself if you could be grateful for the opposite (instead of what you got).
